During this pre-academic course, you can find out whether a professional training to become an artist is feasible for you. This Basic Training introduces you to the method of the Classical Academy of Fine Arts, but is not required for admission to the Vocational Training – you can also apply for that entry exam directly. There is no entry selection for the Basic Training. After paying the tuition fee your application is fulfilled.
The academic year runs from September until June and is divided into two semesters of 15 weeks each. Every week there is a 2,5 hour class. Classes are on Monday morning from 9.30 to 12.00 a.m. or Monday afternoon from 12.30 to 15.00 p.m. Your teacher is Tom S. Hageman. The set-up is process-oriented, with a lot of focus on basic techniques and skills. It’s a taste of the Vocational Course’s curriculum. Used materials are charcoal and paper and in the second semester also bamboo pen and ink.
The year is divided into two semesters of 15 weeks each. After the first semester a collective progress discussion takes place. The final evaluation of the Basic Training coincides with the entry exam for the Vocational Course.
